MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP S. D. BUTLER, OKINAWA, Japan -- Marine Corps Installations Pacific first responders have safely de-escalated the situation at Camp Lester housing, Oct. 30. At 12:55 p.m. military officials safely walked the Marine who barricaded himself inside his home, outside.
Military officials have secured the scene without further incident or danger to any on or off base residents. There are no changes to the Camp Lester Middle School schedule.
MCIPAC has emergency first responders who are well trained and fully capable of handling any situation. Personnel and staff conduct regular drills to respond to a variety of emergency situations, and that training enabled the quick resolution of this rare event.
