Tech. Sgt. Brittany E. C. Bowers recites the oath of enlistment during the ceremony of her promotion to tech sergeant Oct. 30 at the Marine Corps Installations Pacific Headquarters on Camp Foster, Okinawa, Japan. Bowers serves in the Nebraska Air National Guard, as an aircrew flight equipment craftsman, and currently works as a paralegal for the Pacific Area Counsel Office, Marine Corps Installations Pacific-Marine Corps Base Camp Butler, Japan. “My military commitment consists of 12 weekend drills throughout the year and 15 annual training days, totaling to 39 duty days and approximately 8 weeks,” said Bowers, a Columbus, Ga., native. Bowers’ unit, the 170th Operations Group at Offutt Air Force Base, Neb., places her on orders once per year to travel back to the U.S. to fulfill her military commitment.
