375 AMW WINGMAN DAY - TODAY
Due to 375 AMW Wingman Day today, the FSS Military Personnel Section, Fitness Center and James Sports Center will be minimally manned. Please be prepared for delays. All previously scheduled appointments will be honored in the event that they have not been subsequently re-scheduled.

The 375th Medical Group will have reduced services. They will have limited availability of appointments for acute medical issues and other services will be limited. Our Pharmacy and Lab will have limited services which may result in longer than average response times. We regret any inconvenience and thank you for your cooperation and understanding. As a reminder, if you need emergency care, seek out the nearest emergency center or call 911. For appointments or questions please call 256-WELL (9355).

The 375th Air Mobility Wing Legal Office will be closed for participation starting at 1 p.m. There will be no legal assistance offered on this day. We will resume normal hours 5 July. Please contact our office at 256-3542 with any questions or concerns.

The finance office will have significantly reduced operating hours. Please be prepared for significant delays or call wait times. If at all possible please attempt to coordinate around this important military training day.

The services provided by the Communications Squadron, including the Communications Focal Point, telephone/computer technicians, cable maintenance, and airfield systems will be minimally manned. Customers may still submit trouble tickets, but please anticipate delays in ticket response time. High priority tickets, however, will not be affected. Thank you in advance for your cooperation and understanding.

SUPPLY STORE CLOSURE - TODAY
The AIB base supply store will be closed for inventory today.

ASSUMPTION OF COMMAND - 7 JULY

BELLEVILLE GATE CLOSURE - 11 JULY
Recently, traffic data was collected from the Belleville Gate which indicates that from 11:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. traffic entering the installation through this gate is extremely limited. Effective 11 July, the Belleville Gate will be closed from 11:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. Mon-Sun. When the Belleville Gate is closed, the Shiloh Gate will be the only gate used for base entry and exit. Please ensure all family members and guests are made aware of this new schedule. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Security Forces at 256-2931.

Directions from the Belleville Gate to Shiloh Gate are as follows:
Drive South on Scott Drive away from Belleville Gate ,Right On Highway 161 Right On Air Mobility Drive, Right on Seibert Rd (runs right into the Shiloh Gate)

AFGLSC CHANGE OF COMMAND - 22 JULY
The AFGLSC Change of Command will be 22 July at the Scott Club starting at 10 a.m. Maj. Gen. Gary McCoy will relinquish command to Brig. Gen. H. Brent Baker. Immediately following the change of command will be Maj Gen McCoy's retirement ceremony. Both ceremonies will be presided over by the Commander, Air Force Materiel Command, Gen. Donald Hoffman.

ENERGY TIP OF THE WEEK
Did you know it takes about 70 gallons of water to produce 1 gallon of gas? Also, the next energy conversation with the 375th AMW commander is 7 July in the 375th Wing Conference Room from 4 to 6 p.m. All are invited to attend.

CHIEF'S GROUP ANNUAL STEAK SALE - TODAY
The Chief's Group will host their annual Steak Lunch today from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in front of the Passenger Terminal, Bldg. 8. The lunch plate costs $8.00 and includes steak, corn on the cob, bake potato, dinner roll and beverage. Tickets can be purchased from any chief in your organization. For orders of 10 or more, advance notice is required on the day of pick-up. All proceeds go directly back to Scott AFB through local support programs.

WINGMAN DAY GREENS FEES DISCOUNT - TODAY
Today is the 375 AMW Wingman Day. The Wingman program promotes safety and enhances camaraderie. To encourage all participants to think about their wingman and to build on the principles of this program, the Cardinal Creek Golf Course will offer a 15% discount on all greens fees today. 2011 CLUB SCHOLARSHIP SUBMISSION DEADLINE - 1 JULY
Air Force Club Members... get your share of $25,000 in scholarship awards to help combat the costs of higher education. This year 25 college bound students will be selected to receive a $1,000 scholarship giveaway as part of the Air Force Club Membership Scholarship Program. To enter, just write and submit an essay of 500 words or less on this year's topic, "My Contribution(s) to the Air Force." A current college/university acceptance letter or official transcripts must be included. Current Air Force Club members and their family members (e.g. spouse, son, daughter, stepson/daughter, and grandchildren who are dependents of members) are eligible. Winners will be announced 16 Sept.

SCUBA DIVING TRIP - 2 JULY
Always wondered what it would be like to breathe underwater and to swim with the fish, this is your chance. Join Outdoor Recreation on a Scuba Diving Adventure at Mermet Springs 2 July. Cost is $48/person, which includes transportation, equipment, gear and instruction. One on one instruction from a dive master will be given for approximately 30 minutes. Buses will depart at 7:30 a.m., returning around 4 p.m. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Sign-ups will be taken through 1 July based upon availability. GOSPEL JAZZ SERVICE - 3 JULY
Everyone is invited to attend a Gospel Jazz Service at Chapel Two, Cardinal Creek, 3 July at 10:30 a.m. Chaplain (Lt. Col.) William Ziegler will present the Gospel in Jazz, along with a narration. Food and fellowship will follow.

FAMILY GOLF TIME - BEGINS 3 JULY
Cardinal Creek Family Golf is back and it's better than ever. Come out and enjoy our new Family Golf Course of five holes designed to maximize the golfing experience and family time without taking up your entire day or breaking the family budget. Family groups can make tee time reservations from 2 to 5 p.m., every Sunday July-August. Cost is $10 for adults, $5 for juniors 8 - 17 years of age which includes greens fees and cart. Rental clubs free for juniors and only $5 for adults. Regular play will be available on the course front nine during Family Golf. For more information, call 744-1400.

TAKE YOUR DAUGHTER TO THE GOLF COURSE WEEK - 4-10 JULY
Cardinal Creek Golf Course has designated 4-10 July as "Take your daughter to the Golf Course week". The week will consist of free greens fees for junior girls ages 8-17 when accompanied by a paying adult. All ladies equipment, clothing and associated golf merchandise will be discounted by 15% throughout this week. For more information, call 744-1400.

SWIM LESSONS - 5-15 JULY
Register at Outdoor Recreation today for swim lessons. Cost is $45/person per session. Swim Lesson Sessions: Session 2: 5-15 July, Session 3: 25 July 25 - 5 Aug. Classes must have a minimum of six students for lessons to be held. Swimmers will be evaluated at the first lesson and placed in the proper lesson level. All classes will be held at the James Sports Center Pool;
*Ages 5-14: 9 to 9:45 a.m. or 10 to 10:45 a.m.
*Parent & child (under 5 yrs. old): 11 to 11:30 a.m.
*Adults (15 & older): 11 to 11:45 a.m. or 5 to 5:45 p.m.

The Scott AFB Chapel will host VBS for all children Pre-School through 6th grade. GOLF TOURNEY - 15 JULY
The Navy element at Scott AFB is hosting a golf tournament at Locust Hills Golf Course in Lebanon, Ill., 15 July to support the Navy element MWR fund. VOLUNTEERS NEEDED - 15 - 16 JULY
World Shooting Competition Volunteers are needed to work on behalf of the
Air Force Ball Committee. We will be serving youth in a fun and competitive
atmosphere by loading clays and scoring contests 15-16 July. Off-duty hours in Sparta, Ill., will be 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. for both days. SPECIAL NEEDS CARNIVAL - 16 JULY
The Exceptional Family Member Program and Youth Center will host a Special Needs Carnival 16 July from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Youth Center. Activities include a Safari Club Sensory Trailer, magician, karaoke, face painting, prizes, games and food. RSVPs are required. SCHOOL WORKSHOP - 20 JULY
Parent Advocates for Students and Schools (PASS) will hold a "Starting Your Child in School Workshop" 20 July from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the A&FRC. The workshop is designed to educate parents on ways to have a successful and meaningful start to their child's early education, tips on how to register your child in school and understanding the importance of proper advocacy for their child. PASS workshops are led by parents and local educators who help military families become better advocates for their children while transferring from school to school due to military relocations. CATHOLIC VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL - 25 - 29 JULY

FIREWORKS SAFETY
Fireworks are often part of Fourth of July celebrations, but backyard fireworks displays can be extremely hazardous. Every year thousands of Americans, mostly children, are hurt by consumer fireworks such as sparklers and firecrackers. It's always best to attend a professional fireworks display hosted by a local municipality in order to have a safe and enjoyable firework display. Fireworks on Scott AFB are prohibited.
