This was the first time Kokusai University students participated in an event on base. The players used English and Japanese words, relying on a partner to help them with the words. These events create a fun, relaxed environment, enabling participants to reach out and create new friendships. Miyagi is a student at Kokusai University. Cuevas, a native of Fayetteville, N.C., presents a plaque to the Meio University Football Club coach to thank the team for participating in a soccer match May 11 on Camp Courtney. The match built upon the already strong relationship between the community and service members. Gaxiola conducts the III Marine Expeditionary Force Band at the Family Mart Dream Match exhibition soccer game March 23 at the Okinawa Comprehensive Athletic Park in Awase, Okinawa. During the game, the International Athletic Club Kobe Leonessa competed against the University of California, Los Angeles Bruins. Gaxiola is an enlisted conductor with the III MEF Band. “Everybody gets into (the performance),” said Lance Cpl. John M.
