U.S. Navy Capt. Irving A. Elson, deputy chaplain of the Marine Corps, instructs a class during a professional development training course May 19 at the Ocean Breeze Club, Camp Foster, Okinawa, Japan. The class was hosted by the Chaplain Corps, which consists of all commissioned naval officers who are ordained to conduct religious services and promote the spiritual, moral and personal well-being of service members. U.S. Navy Cmdr. Alberto Fernandez-Milo, left, demonstrates proper tourniquet application techniques to Royal Cambodian Air Force Maj. Norng Kun Theara during a practical application seminar March 20 as part of Cambodia Medical Exercise 14-1 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. The seminar is part of a weeklong medical subject-matter expert exchange focused on preparing and planning for humanitarian assistance and disaster relief efforts. During the seminar, participants learned how to properly use and improvise certain medical equipment, such as tourniquets, to better support first aid and triage procedures.
