Headquarters and Support Battalion, Marine Corps Installations Pacific-Marine Corps Base Camp Butler, Japan hosted an annual holiday party at the Foster Fieldhouse Dec. 5 aboard Camp Foster.

The party brought Marines and their families together for a night of festive fun and activities. Santa made a guest appearance, spending the night taking photos with families and spreading Christmas cheer.

“It’s great that Marines can come out and spend time with their family and friends during this time of year,” said Cpl. Alec Toney, a volunteer at the holiday party. “It helps with unit camaraderie and allows families to get together and bring in the holiday spirit.”

Children and their parents made arts and crafts together; decorating sugar cookies, making snowflakes with glitter and popsicle sticks and building snowmen out of cotton balls.

“It makes me feel good to see Marines enjoying themselves with their family and friends,” said Toney, a military police officer with H&S BN, MCIPAC-MCB Camp Butler, Japan.

After a home-cooked holiday meal, Marines participated in several holiday competitions including raffle prizes and ugly sweater and pie eating contests.

“I think it’s great that H&S BN was able to have this event for the Marines and their families,” said Brig. Gen. Paul Rock, commanding general of MCIPAC-MCB Camp Butler, Japan. “You have games for the Marines and Santa here for the kids to help boost morale and welcome the holiday season.”
