Marines and sailors execute advanced live-fire training with the M16A4 service rifle and M4 carbine June 11 at Combined Arms Training Center Camp Fuji as part of Exercise Fuji Warrior. The training better prepares the service members to rapidly react to hostile contact should they deploy to a regional contingency or crisis. Royal Cambodian Army Col. Mak Sophai presents a strategy for disaster relief developed by a group of bilateral medical professionals during a tabletop exercise March 21at Phnom Penh, Cambodia. The TTX was the final event of Cambodia Medical Exercise 14-1. The event focused on large-scale planning for potential humanitarian assistance and disaster relief efforts in the region. Sgt. Maj. Justin D. Lehew speaks with students and faculty participating in the Staff Non-Commissioned Officers Academy Feb. 6 at the West Chapel on Camp Hansen regarding his personal experiences in the Marine Corps and how those in attendance can expand their knowledge of history and tradition. Lehew earned the Navy Cross, the second highest award for combat valor after the Medal of Honor, for his actions March 23-24, 2003 during the Battle of An-Nasiriyah. The battle took place during the initial invasion of Iraq, in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Lehew is the command sergeant major of Training and Education Command, Headquarters Marine Corps. - Sgt. Maj. Justin D.
